Rumors and the US Open Cup
Nasty Rumors have been circling around the BCFC fans over the last couple of weeks. Jake is trying to uncover the truth of these rumors. I will not list these rumors until they are certified FACTS. Unfortunately, some important people who can put these rumors to rest are unreachable for the next week. FACTS will be posted here on the home page as soon as they are verified.
In other news, Charm City will be the NPSL Eastern Conference representative as they travel to Branchburg, New Jersey to take on Go Soccer F.C. as they play in the USASA Region 1 North Division tournament. The top two teams out of this tournament will qualify for the US Open Cup proper tournament. The winner of this match moves on to play Christos F.C. May 3rd.
Even though Charm City F.C. is one of BCFC’s competitors in the NPSL Keystone conference, We wish them the best of luck in the tournament. Not only to get the NPSL league out there, but also make them play more games and hopefully will feel the fatigue when the NPSL season starts. But seriously, we do hope they will make it far into the round proper so CCFC can prove to NPSL coaches that NPSL teams can compete. To many teams this year have had an opportunity to play but have rejected the offer because the team and players would not be ready. Hopefully from now on coaches can get quality legit players and play a good hard game to beat these teams from other amateurs leagues to get to the proper tournament. The US Open Cup could, and should be, a lot more popular among amateur teams.
Oh and yea CCFC, whats this? Not creative to make your own pictures? Also, rule of thumb is when you copy ideas, you should try and make it look better than the picture or idea your stealing from.

Game was played at Nicholls Field. It’s a pretty nice field. From the location where I watched the game (The players bench) It kind of looks like “Ivy Lane” or “Town Park” on Fifa 09 with a capacity of 30 people. So it should be a nice atmosphere this upcoming season.
Also check out the news and events page for upcoming Road Trips!!!

Buffalo City FC 3-0 FC Revolution
650 miles of driving and some Geno’s and Pat’s Philly Cheese steaks made last weekend an unforgettable start to the BCFC season. Weekend starting early Saturday morning to start the long ass 6 hour trek to Reading, PA. After pre-gaming in the stadiums parking lot for an hour prior to kickoff, we made our way into the stadium to stake out our spot among the crowd of 13 year old pre-teen middle schoolers.
Boys looked to be in top form and I’m sure will dominate as they take on Pocono Snow Sunday at 3pm.

Buffalo City FC 1-0 FC Revolution
I was happy to finally play FC Revolution at home. It was a nice relaxing day here in Buffalo so I assumed that this relaxing atmosphere would transfer to the pitch. I brought my cooler, a nice camping lounge chair right next to the pitch so I could watch BCFC man handle the worst defensive team in the North-east. Well, I was partly right. Turns out that the match was so relaxed I almost fell asleep in my chair. I had to stand up the whole second half in order to stay awake. There were tons of wasted chances on our sides. It was just an awful game to watch! That’s all I have to say about it. The only bright spot of the match was the goal by Dan Waymont. Just to add insult to sleepiness is the actual field that BCFC plays on. If you didn’t know, Nichols is a private school, Lots of money. Has two artificial turf fields that plays hosts to many sports. One of the fields is host to the football team. The other field does not, yet we still play on the field with Football markings even though the other soccer field is not being used at all. Wtf is up with that? Well that’s my story from today and I’m sticking to it. Oh and as for the Pocono Snow report? Well all anyone needs to know is that we crushed them. It was way too easy to beat half of the NPSL champions. As we speak I’m booking a hotel for the Final Four in Madison, Wisconsin!!! |
